More fall than the western plains
The northern growth corridor rolls more than Melton or Tarneit. Lots toward Aitken Creek and Merri Creek tributaries often have half a metre of fall across the building envelope. That is cut-and-fill with compacted layers on the fill side — not a scrape. Cheap fill placement shows up as slab movement later; ask how compaction is handled before you compare prices.
Flat, pre-graded lots in Merrifield or Cloverton still need a detailed cut to slab level and spoil off. From Melton we run the Ring Road and Hume — typically around 40 minutes. Load counts in the quote include that extra kilometre. Winter clay on the slopes can drain better than the western plains, but we still leave a rain buffer in June–August.

Are sloping lots a different price?
Usually. Cut-and-fill and extra truck movements cost more than a flat detailed scrape. Send the cut sheet.
Is a western-suburbs crew practical in Hume?
For us, yes — Ring Road and Hume is a known run. We do not pretend it is next door to Melton; the quote reflects the travel.
